Intel Will Reveal 8th Generation CPUs This Month; Sooner Than Expected

Intel’s 7th-generation CPUs (Kaby Lake) released in January this year, about 17 months after the preceding generation (Skylake)–a usual transition in the CPU market. However, Intel is ready to reveal its 8th-generation on August 21. And while we don’t know of the release window quite yet, this announcement comes much sooner than what we’d expect. The Kaby Lake processor family was announced this time last year and released five months later. If this next generation (Coffee Lake) follows suit, we could have new Intel chips in early 2018. This also ...

Wolfenstein 2 Trailer Is More Chocolate Than Gameplay

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus has received a new trailer–but it’s a little different from most video game trailers. Instead of concentrating on new guns, new enemy types or the array of locations you’ll fight in, the majority of the trailer highlights a naughty child, seemingly acting in a wartime comedy show. Some gameplay does emerge towards the end however–take a look above. Wolfenstein II’s E3 reveal was similar–it aped TV footage from decades gone by in the form of mock game shows, ads, and cartoons, before showing gameplay footage ...

TSA Will Now Screen All Electronics ‘Larger Than a Cell Phone’

The TSA (Théâtre de Sécurité Américain Transportation Security Administration) has been generally accused of incompetence, failure to detect bombs smuggled in luggage, and of making flying even more miserable than it would be otherwise. Far from fighting back against such hassle — particularly in the face of 16 years of demonstrated proof the organization is incompetent — the TSA has seemingly embraced it. The organization has announced that it will now begin screening all devices larger than a cell phone on all flights, foreign and domestic. The exact text reads: ...

Gigabyte Announces Tiny PC More Powerful and Upgradeable Than Raspberry Pi

The Raspberry Pi has proved itself to be a versatile little computer, and you can get them for pocket change. It’s a bit light on power, though. Now, Gigabyte is preparing to launch a similar device called the GA-SBCAP3350. Yeah, it really needs a better name, but this slightly larger micro-computer offers more power and modularity than the Raspberry Pi. The GA-SBCAP3350 measures 146 x 102mm, which is nearly twice the size of the Raspberry Pi at 85 x 56mm. Gigabyte’s board looks more like a PC motherboard, and in some ...

Steam Banhammers More Than 40,000 People After its Summer Sale

Steam’s Summer Sale officially concluded last week, but Valve had one last surprise in store for cheaters who had hoped to score cheap replacements on games (or to build up a larger stockpile of titles while cheating in others). On July 6, Steam banned more than 40,000 people — 40,426 according to Steamdb.info — vastly exceeding its previous daily ban record. There’s a particular method to Valve’s timing here, as PC Gamer reports. Serial cheaters in popular titles will create multiple burner accounts to maintain access to their preferred titles, but ...
