Prime Minister Theresa May has ruled out cuts to the UK foreign aid budget if she wins the general election. She said the government’s commitment to spending 0.7% of national income on aid “will remain” but said it must be spent “in the most effective way”. Syria war: Sarin used in Khan Sheikhoun attack, OPCW says

“Incontrovertible” test results show sarin gas or a similar substance was used in the chemical weapons attack in Syria earlier this month, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) says. Samples from 10 victims had been analysed at four laboratories, OPCW head Ahmet Uzumcu said. The attack on rebel-held Khan Sheikhoun killed at least 87 people. North Korea has attempted to launch a missile on its east coast which is believed to have failed, South Korea’s military says.
