Prisoners released by mistake at record high

A record 71 prisoners were released from jails in England and Wales last year by mistake, figures have shown. Data from the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) also showed a rise in violence with 26,643 assaults in the year to March 2017 – 20% more than the previous year. Of these, a record 7,159 were attacks on staff – equivalent to 20 every day. How the Federal Reserve works Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen spent three nights in a London hospital for a urinary tract infection, according to a statement from the central bank. Yellen, 70, was admitted on Friday, released on Monday and returned to Washington D.C. She plans to continue her regular schedule, the Fed said. London attack: Images of fake explosive belts released

Police have released images of the fake explosives belts worn by the men who carried out the London Bridge attack. Khuram Butt, Rachid Redouane and Youssef Zaghba wore the belts as they stabbed people in Borough Market. The officer leading the investigation said use of the belts was a “tactic” he had not seen before in the UK and one that created “maximum fear”. Rolf Harris released from Stafford Prison

Rolf Harris has been released from Stafford Prison. The TV entertainer is currently on trial on four counts of alleged indecent assault against three teenagers between 1971 and 1983 – but has been appearing via video link. Mr Harris, who denies all charges, will attend the trial at Southwark Crown Court in person from Monday. Jurors have already been told that Mr Harris, 87, was convicted and sentenced following a trial in 2014. The current trial, which began on 15 May, is not sitting on Friday. Let’s block ads! Images of three people have been released by police investigating the “brutal” attack of a teenage asylum seeker at a bus stop in London. Witnesses said up to 20 people watched as the 17-year-old was kicked and punched in the assault in Shrublands Avenue, Croydon, on Friday. London attack: Two men continue to be questioned as seven released

Seven of the 11 people arrested since the Westminster attack have been released with no further action, police have said. The Metropolitan Police said two men remain in custody, while two women have been released on bail until late March. Police are trying to establish whether attacker Khalid Masood acted alone. Outlast 2 Will Be Released In Australia

After being refused classification earlier this month, horror game Outlast 2 has been successfully re-classified and given the adult rating of R18+ in Australia.
