Qualcomm has a message for its prospective buyer: Sorry, but we’re worth more than you think. The company on Monday rejected an unsolicited $ 130 billion takeover bid by Broadcom(AVGO) that would have been the second-largest deal in American corporate history. “The board has concluded that Broadcom’s proposal dramatically undervalues Qualcomm(QCOM, Tech30) and comes with significant regulatory uncertainty,” Qualcomm presiding director Tom Horton said in a statement. Stalking victim rejects police apology over stabbing

A woman who was stabbed by her stalker has dismissed a police apology as “meaningless”. Helen Pearson, 34, was suffered neck and face wounds when her neighbour Joseph Willis attacked her with scissors in an Exeter graveyard. She had made 125 reports to Devon and Cornwall Police about Willis’ stalking before the attack in 2013. The force said its “investigation and victim care did not meet the high standards we expect”. Boris Johnson has rejected calls to cancel Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK after the US president’s Twitter attack on London’s mayor. Vermont governor rejects recreational pot bill

You won’t find this vice on the Vegas Strip The governor of Vermont has rejected a bill to legalize recreational marijuana in his state. Governor Phil Scott, a Republican, told reporters he was not satisfied that the bill adequately protected public safety. He said he was particularly worried about the threat of stoned drivers and about children getting access to pot. The governor said he was returning the bill to the legislature. A court in New Zealand has denied internet mogul Kim Dotcom’s bid to avoid being sent to the United States where he faces criminal charges.
