The US has insisted it will leave the Paris climate accord, despite reports that it may be softening its stance. Officials who met a White House representative on Saturday said afterwards the US would either stay in the 2015 accord or change its approach. Paris attack: Hunt for car driven at soldiers injuring six

A car has struck a group of soldiers in Paris, injuring six, two seriously, police say. A large and urgent police operation is now under way to find the vehicle and driver involved in the incident in the north-western suburb of Levallois-Perret. The Trump administration has issued its first written notification that the US intends to withdraw from the 2015 Paris climate agreement. But in the notice to the United Nations the US state department said Washington would remain in the talks process.
