Deadlock over UK's Brexit bill, says EU's Michel Barnier

The EU’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier says there has not been enough progress to move to the next stage of Brexit talks as the UK wants. Brexit: PM bids to break deadlock with two-year deal offer

Theresa May will tell EU leaders there is a shared responsibility to make Brexit work “smoothly” as she attempts to break the deadlock in negotiations. In a major speech in Florence on Friday, she will say history will judge Brexit “not for the differences we faced, but for the vision we showed”. EU-Turkey migrants summit in deadlock

The EU and Turkey have so far failed to agree on a way to ease the migrant crisis during a summit in Brussels. They are discussing an offer by Turkey to do more to stop illegal migration in return for more EU aid and accelerated membership talks for Turkey.
