Why Steph Curry won't win another MVP

8:58 AM ET It has been the Summer of Steph, with Stephen Curry leading the unofficial NBA clicks counter (non-Cavaliers drama category) by doing everything from besting a few professional golfers at their own sport to vanquishing inflatable defenders in a version of basketball. We saw him lead a contingent of Golden State Warriors onstage to pick up an ESPY and watched him imitating LeBron James‘ dance moves at a wedding. The only place Curry hasn’t shown up is in the chatter regarding next season’s most valuable player contenders. Curry ...

Lloyds Banking Group has set aside another £1bn to cover the cost of insurance mis-selling and the treatment of mortgage customers. Another £700m will cover payment protection insurance (PPI) claims and £283m will be used to repay about 590,000 mortgage holders. The SNES Classic Launch Is On Track to Be Another Disaster

In business, it’s usually ideal to sell as many things as possible to consumers, but Nintendo has a different approach. The NES Classic Edition released last year was a hot must-have gift for the holiday season, but Nintendo just didn’t make very many of them. Then, Nintendo discontinued the device while people were still clamoring to get their hands on it. It’s all very bizarre, and it’s possible we’re headed for a very similar outcome with the upcoming SNES Classic. Like the NES Classic, the SNES Classic will come with ...

Zach Lowe: Biggest questions in another wild NBA offseason

9:30 AM ET The NBA has been spinning out of control since the Finals, and we’ve only now reached the main event: the kickoff of what should be a wild free agency period, even with a flattened cap that squeezed available room around the league. The NBA knew the cap would skyrocket thanks to its mammoth new national TV deal. Teams at first expected multiple spikes: a huge one last summer, as Kevin Durant hit free agency, and at least one more big jump this summer. Teams splurged a year ...

Should the Cubs put Javier Baez (or another young star) on the trade block?

7:48 AM ET CHICAGO — If the Chicago Cubs are going to go big-game hunting for a starting pitcher this trade season, infielder Javier Baez remains the best option to reel one in — at least according to several executives around baseball. Rookie Ian Happ is turning heads but doesn’t have a full body of work, particularly on defense. Kyle Schwarber would still bring a haul, albeit from an American League team. “Baez fits above all of them because he can play shortstop and offers the most upside with power ...
