This site may earn affiliate commissions from the links on this page. Terms of use. Accessing mobile devices used to be trivially easy for the FBI back in the days of flip phones, but the modern world is much more security conscious. That’s 7,000 smartphones sitting in evidence lockers that cannot be unlocked because of encryption. Wray calls this a “huge, huge problem,” but ...

Google Fiber is slashing employees, preparing to deploy wireless access points instead of fiber optics

Over the past year, it’s become increasingly clear that Alphabet, Google’s new parent company that runs the Access division responsible for deploying Google Fiber, hasn’t been thrilled with that segment’s performance or cost structure.
