Boy arrested after attempted rape of girl, 8, in Manchester

A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of the attempted rape of an eight-year-old girl in a park. Police were called to Nuthurst Park in Moston, Manchester, just before 18:55 BST on Saturday. Greater Manchester Police said officers responded to reports of a girl being raped and the offender being chased off by members of the public. Pakistan oil tanker fire kills scores

At least 123 people were killed when a lorry transporting oil burst into flames in the Pakistani city of Bahawalpur, local officials say. They say dozens of people were badly burned as they tried to collect fuel leaking from the vehicle. Those injured are being treated in hospital. Firefighters are now at the scene tackling the blaze. Unconfirmed reports suggest the tanker had overturned because of speeding, and later caught fire. President Donald Trump has accused his predecessor Barack Obama of inaction over alleged Russian interference in the US election in 2016. Mr Trump said Mr Obama had learned well before the 8 November poll about the accusations and “did nothing”.
